Terms & Conditions - Text Trails UK

  1. Terms of Service

    • TextTrailsUK issues redemption vouchers to its customers via its website. By transacting on our website you enter a contractual agreement for TextTrailsUK will share access details for the experience of your choice in exchange for payment as advertised on www.texttrailsuk.com

    • After an order has been placed an email will be sent to the associated email address entered at point of purchase. This email will include your order reference number, payment confirmation, and downloadable Welcome Pack. The Welcome Pack will detail the starting location of your trail, aswell as your personal access code to start your experience.

  2. Refunds & Complaints

    • The easiest way to resolve any issues you experience is to contact us at texttrailsuk@gmail.com quoting your order reference number

      1. Pre-experience: We offer 'no questions asked' refunds within 30 days of the original date of purchase, so long as you have not yet initiated your Trail.

      2. Mid/Post-experience: Once you have begun your trail by sending your first message to the supplied mobile number, you no longer qualify for a pre-experience refund. If you have started your trail and are unhappy with the experience provided, faced technical difficulties, or feel you should receive a refund for an alternative reason then please contact us and we will do what we can to support your situation.

    • Regardless of the circumstances, Text Trails UK is only able to refund to the maximum value of your online transaction with us. As such we are unable to reimburse other costs you may accrue whilst on your day out.

    • All refunds will be made to the person who purchased the voucher and they will be refunded directly via the original method of payment. Please allow 14 days for your refund to be processed.

    • Contacting us in the event of a complaint: We do our best to respond to all customer contacts (linked form) within 24 hours. However Text Trails is not a large corporate business (we’re just two travel enthusiasts with a passion project) and as such our contact channels are not monitored 24/7.  We will always do our best to get back to you as soon as possible, but please bare with us. 

  3. Text Message Services

    • Text Trails UK use a third party software provider (textclues.com) to send and receive all of the text messages for your Text Trail. We cannot be held accountable for any technical issues faced when you are interacting with the supplied phone number.

    • The system works on a trigger-response basis. Receiving the message from our customers will trigger the response message from this third party. If a response text message does not reach a customer’s phone, it is likely that the 3rd party technology has not received your message (and therefore that the response cannot be triggered).

    • If you do face technical issues then please rest assured:

      1. We will offer a refund if the text-message data we hold associated with your phone number shows that problems occurred. Our data holds time stamps.  Please get in touch.

      2. We will make a manual adjustment to the Total Score on the leader board so that you are not penalised for something beyond your control

  4. Discount codes

    • Discount codes are issued subject to availability and can be withdrawn without notice at any time. Only one discount may be used per order. Discounts can only be applied to internet orders online.  Some discount codes are only available on selected lines.

  5. Data Protection

    • Your privacy is our highest priority. Your details will only be used to process orders, gather feedback and data regarding our products and services and to send you promotional material (if opted into this service - see below). Sub-contractors may also be used to fulfil services on our behalf, included but not limited to points referred to in this section.

  7. Marketing Services, Subscriptions, and opting out

    • We do not use any of your personally identifiable information (email address, billing address, mobile phone number etc) for any marketing service.

    • Email address

      1. Text Trails UK has recently (March 2023) launched email marketing services.

      2. To opt in to email marketing you need to complete the newsletter sign up form on the main website (in the footer), or complete a form on one of our social media platforms. 

      3. To opt out of marketing emails please click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter.

      4. In order to fulfil any contractual agreement with you, Text Trails UK (or third parties acting on our behalf such as Wix, Google, TripAdvisor, or any form of market research) will sometimes send you service emails relating to your transaction, payment, or experience on the day. By EU GDPR law these are classified as service messaging, not marketing.

    • Social Media & Online Targeting

      1. Text Trails UK run targeted advertising campaigns. These campaigns are shown to applicable "audiences" (anonymously defined groups of users, based on historical browsing behaviour or information about you held by other services, such as Facebook, Instagram, etc). Text Trails UK does not hold any personal data about you used for marketing on these platforms.

Introduction

Purpose of this privacy notice

This privacy notice aims to give you information on how Text Trails UK collects and processes your personal data through your use of this website, including any data you may provide through this website when you sign up to our newsletter, purchase a product or take part in a competition.

This website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

Third-party links

This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit.

 

The data we collect about you

Personal data or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have summarised as follows:

Identity Data includes first name, last name, and title if provided

Contact Data includes billing address, email address and telephone numbers.

Financial Data is not stored (our external payment provider WixPayments processes your transaction and does not pass this data to us.

Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.

Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.

Profile Data includes your email address, username and password (for account holders only), your transactional order history, preferences, and form submissions.

Usage Data includes information about how you use/interact our website, products and services.

Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.

We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (such as race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, health / genetic / biometric data).

 

How your data is collected

Direct interactions: information which is directly input by you, for example when completing a transaction, filling out a submission form, or subscribing to our services.

Automated technology or interactions: as you interact with our website, we may automatically collect information about our equipment, browsing behaviours, or systems usage.

Third parties: We may receive personal data about you from various third parties and public sources.

 

How we use your personal data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to complete the contract agreement we are about to enter into or have entered into with you (most commonly this relates to an order you have placed with us - by placing an order you are entering into a contractual agreement with Text Trails UK)

  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) or where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

  • Where you are subscribed into our email marketing services, you will receive monthly newsletters, VIP perks, and exclusive access to offers, as per the agreement when you opted in.

Data access, correction, deletion

You have a personal legal right to access/correct any or all of the data we hold about you. If you so wish you can ask us to delete any personally identifiable data about you.

If you do not request a deletion we will retain the data detailed in this policy indefinitely.
